A Beautiful Start to April on Skjálfandi Bay

April began with a beautiful day in Húsavík and another search for wildlife on Skjálfandi Bay.

The day started with lovely weather and relatively mild conditions for this time of year. We headed out onto the bay to search, but despite our efforts, we had no wildlife sightings to report from today's tour.

As the trip went on, conditions changed and the final part of the journey brought stronger winds and some sea spray — a reminder of how quickly conditions can shift on the bay.

Our Ocean Journal records the season as it happens, and today was one of the quieter days. Tomorrow's tour has been cancelled due to conditions, so we'll continue our search when we're able to head out again.
