A Freezing but Beautiful Day on Skjálfandi Bay

Our whale watching tour on March 28 took us out onto a freezing cold but beautiful Skjálfandi Bay.

We searched the bay during the tour, but had no wildlife sightings to report on this particular trip. Even on the quieter days, heading out from Húsavík at this time of year offers a very different experience of the bay, surrounded by the winter landscape of North Iceland.

We're keeping our Ocean Journal as an honest record of the season, including the days when our search doesn't result in an encounter. Every departure is a new search, and we'll be back out again when conditions allow.
