Two Humpback Whales and Puffins in Skjálfandi Bay

During our April 17 whale watching tour from Húsavík, we encountered two humpback whales together in the bay. After the brief and distant humpback sighting the day before, it was wonderful to find two whales today and spend time watching them together.

The wildlife didn't end there. We also had some excellent puffin watching during the tour, adding another sure sign that spring is returning to Skjálfandi Bay.

April is a fascinating time to be on the water in North Iceland. The season is still young, but little by little we are beginning to see more life returning to the bay.

Two humpbacks and puffins made this a very good April day to be at sea. 🐋
